Online nail and lash product safety training in English. Learn about chemical risks and safe salon practices. Digital certificate after passing the exam.
Who is this training for?
This training is for everyone who works with nail and eyelash treatments - gel, acrylic and lash extension products - and needs to understand the health risks involved and how to work safely.
This training is suitable for:
- Nail technicians
- Lash technicians
- Salon owners and managers
Description
Gel, primer, lash adhesive and cleaning products used every day in nail and lash treatments can contain acrylates, methacrylates and cyanoacrylates. These substances can cause skin and respiratory allergies, and once sensitised, even very small amounts can trigger symptoms.
Work with ethyl or methyl-2-cyanoacrylate (common in lash adhesives) totalling more than 30 minutes per week requires special training and, in most cases, a medical examination with a certificate of fitness for work.
This course follows a typical working day in the salon - from the products on the table, through nail and lash treatments, ventilation and protective equipment, to hygiene, spills and first aid - so you can recognise risks and prevent them in practice.
Course content
- Introduction to the chemicals used in nail and lash treatments and how exposure occurs
- Training certificates versus medical examinations and certificates of fitness for work
- Safe nail treatments: product choice, curing, filing and dust control
- Safe lash treatments: handling cyanoacrylate adhesive near the breathing zone and eyes
- Ventilation and personal protective equipment - gloves, eye protection and respiratory protection
- Hygiene routines, spill handling and first aid
- How to build and maintain a proper risk assessment for the salon
Information about hazardous chemical products
